The Assignment:

Eat an ice cream, and write a poem about it, but DO NOT use these words: Ice cream, delicious, cone, creamy, cold, lick.

The Poems:

Ice Cream by Zach

Yucky
Yucky
Yucky
Yucky
Yucky
Yucky
Yucky !

Ice Cream by Abby

It’s icy good
It’s freezing
It’s sweet
It’s shivery
It’s icy
It’s melty
It’s gone

Ice Cream by Hannah

It is arctic and melting
It’s good
but leaves an aftertaste
It is icy
It’s frosty
It’s my snack

It’s a snowcone by Calen

To eat a freezing rainbow
A crunchy frigid rainbow
A melting rainbow
A disappearing rainbow
It’s a snowcone rainbow
It’s a snowcone!

Oreo Ice Cream by Mel

As I bite off
It’s savory taste,
Chillsome on my tongue
crunchy bits of cookies
Tickle my tongue
Frigid Oreos
Are the best

And not to be left out, Father wrote one, lol

It’s dark
It’s light
It’s a delight
Oh my
It’s a sight tonight!

My weekend

March 7, 2005 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

On Friday, I took the kids to a matinee of The Pacifer. It was really good. There is some violence, blowing up ships and jet skis, beating people up with karate, but my little ones weren’t bothered by it. Their used to seeing people get beat on in karate, and the other violent scenes didn’t actually show anyone getting hurt. It’s definitely on the to buy list. We also went shopping while we were in town.
Saturday, we just hung out, got a few things done around here.

Sunday, D picked up Kenn and brought him here for the day. He did a few jobs around, then D took him to the movies. They saw The Pacifer, also, and liked it. D took K home last night after supper. But K left his keys here. sigh So I have to run them to him this morning. Guess I’ll run a couple of other errands while I’m out. I try not to go out for just one thing. Conserve gas, you know.

Other than that, it’s just a normal Monday around here. Actually not too normal, as the house appears to have survived the weekend, so I don’t have to dig it out. lol Schoolwork, normal housework, supervising the little kids doing their laundry, that sort of thing. Oh, our new cell phones should arrive this afternoon. 🙂 Not the ones we wanted, as that company doesn’t provide service to us country folks, only them thar city folks. But out of the TWO companies that I could choose from, I chose the best one. Ya, like THAT was difficult. LOL

Time to get to work! TTYL

I’m blogging, don’t fall out of your chair!

February 28, 2005 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I can’t believe it’s been over 2 weeks since I’ve blogged! Some of the things that have happened:

* Melissa had PLEURISY and after 1 ER visit, 1 dr visit, 2 xrays, 3 meds and 1 week, she was feeling better.

* Calen had a cold and a clinic visit. Clinic visit went well, doesn’t go again until April! The colds another story! He complains more about a cold, then he did about having cancer! Not including steroids week!

* Abigail learned NOT to open a parmesan cheese can with her teeth. One tooth fell out! Boy, was she surprised! LOL

* Zachary said pass the cheese, I want a dollar, too! ROFLOL Dad pays a dollar for each tooth that falls out. The kids skip the tooth fairy and go straight to Dad. Guess a dollar helps sooth the trauma of losing a tooth, and blood gushing from your mouth.

* Tax refund came in!

* Went shopping and spent tax refund! Ok, Ok, I did the adult thing and paid some bills first! lol

* D put up 2 BIG rolls of fence for goat pasture. Can you say “expensive”?

* We got 2 more baby goats. We now have 5 goats.

* The 2 new females are named “Frannie” after the goat in the movie Racing Stripes, and “Deb” from Napoleon Dynamite.

* The vet came out and de-horned the 4 baby goats. We all got a good laugh out of the sedated goats just falling over when the meds kicked in.

* Melissa had her 17th birthday! A Napoleon Dynamite party, of course! lol MAYBE she’ll blog the details.

* Drove Kenn around some. He’s looking for a job, had 1 interview but no call yet. Factory job, guess they won’t call until they have enough people.

*Drove my mother to the drs. Dr said she was doing ok, but to slow down.

* Met up with Geannie. Thanks for the goodies, G~!

* Went to an old fashioned soda fountain. We had ice cream cones (3 kids) and rootbeer floats. YUMMY! We discussed the time period, looked at old pics they had hanging up, looked at the old fountain, counter and stools, and cash register they had. Listened to stories from Granny about her days visiting soda fountains, and listened to Peggy Sue by Buddy Holly on the Juke Box. Was a great little field trip!

* Went shopping at Lowes and got 2 ceiling light fixtures for kitchen and master bedroom. And a lamp for the piano. D put them up and they look GREAT! Pushed the cart around with a 50lb cement bag and now I’m sore!!!

* Discovered that the baby goats can get out of the new $500 fence! GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

* Worked in my bedroom and cleared out a LOT of junk! Whenever we don’t know where to put something, or want to put something out of the reach of the kids, it goes in our room. sigh Trying to put a stop to that!

* Sewed a new shower curtain for my bathroom.

* Trying to make a decision about the curtain in my bathroom.

* Have fabric hanging on the road with the current curtain. Hope I decided quickly!

* Caught up on a LOT of filing. I’m attempting to tame the paper tiger! I’ll let you know who wins!

* Been to piano twice. Grannie came and “babysat” Mel the week she was sick. The little kids that it was so funny that their babysitter needed a babysitter!

I think that just about brings you up to date! Now I have to go out and feed my goats!

Good morning! The sun is shining! Shocking, but true! AND it’s supposed to be in the 50’s today. I’m going to have to change out of my long sleeve shirt. Guess I should have watched the weather BEFORE I got dressed! lol

Weeklies Update

I know everyone is waiting anxiously to find out how I did on the weekly housekeeping chores. Well, since you asked, I got most of my bedroom weeklies done. I just need to vacuum. Thursday, the kids helped me work in the kitchen. We got ALL the weeklies done, and MOST of the monthlies! We just have to big stuff left, like moving the stove and fridge to sweep and mop under. Yes, I consider this a monthly, because it really does need to be down that often. I don’t always get it done, but it always needs it! Maybe because I have so many little ones throwing stuff around? or maybe, just maybe, cause I live with ! Oh, yeah, I also need to buy a furnace filter when I go shopping this afternoon, so we can change that. On to the living/dining room on Friday. That didn’t fair as well. This is what I got done – straightened the video tapes, dusted both rooms. I won’t list what I DIDN’T get done, ok?? In my defense, the living room and dining rooms are the easiest rooms in the house to keep clean. As long as the kids pick up their junk, that is! Ok, enough talk about work!

I’ve been baking this morning. Vanilla muffins. The best muffins in the world! I made 4 dozen and 5! We ate some for breakfast, and the rest go in the freezer. YUM

D has gone fence shopping this morning. We need some more for the goats. When he gets back, I’m going shopping! Mostly groceries. I do have to go to the health food store for more supplements, though. Oh, and Tractor Supply to look for a llama toy. Don’t ask. But I do think I’m going to throw in a couple of fun things, too! For now, I need to go clean up my muffin mess in the kitchen! TTYL

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17 NKJV
