Show Me Your Glory Movie Review

May 12, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I just finished watching the new movie Show Me Your Glory. I highly recommend you go see it. Let me tell you why!

Show Me Your Glory

Show Me Your Glory

Synopsis:

How do you explain … the unexplainable? When does the impossible … become possible? Why are some prayers for healing answered and others … never are? Through true stories of the supernatural crashing into human suffering, a compelling new documentary arrives in theaters this spring—unlocking the possibility that the impossible still happens in our world. Meet experts who have studied miracles and suffering, discover true stories of the seemingly unbelievable, and be reminded that prayers can be answered in ways that we could never expect or imagine. If you or someone you love has ever pondered life’s deepest question— “If there is a loving God, why is there so much suffering and evil in the world?” experience hope, encouragement, and awe with Show Me Your Glory.

Watch the Trailer!

Show Me Your Glory Movie Review

Not only do you hear from the experts that have studied miracles, you hear from people that have experienced miracles. The experts discuss many philosophical and theological questions about miracles. Eight people share their personal stories. Many are heartbreaking. Until God shows up. Sickness healed. Drug addicts instantly delivered from addiction.

They tell their story in their own words. What they were like. What happened to them. And how they are now. Incredible stories about incredible miracles straight from God. Many of these scenes are reenacted. We see how a moment in God’s presence can change someone’s life forever. Not only their life, but how the people around them are impacted. Listening to other peoples testimonies of God’s miracles is an amazing way to build our faith. And to bring others to God.

Show Me Your Glory is a very well done documentary. The directing, the original music I liked the way the experts were interspersed between the people giving their stories. Show Me Your Glory is not rated. While it is suitable for family viewing, there are a few things to be aware of. Mainly the discussion of drugs, and talk about what a woman did before coming to Christ. There is a violent scene depicted in the beginning.

Be sure to stay after the credits for a very special message from the director.

Buy tickets today to see Show Me Your Glory in theaters starting May 13th-15th!

Elon Musk Book Review

April 15, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy Leave a Comment

I, of course, have heard of Elon Musk before. But my knowledge was limited. I did hear about his cars many times from the guys in my family, though. lol So I was very interested in reading his biography. Check out my Elon Musk Book Review below.

Famed biographer Walter Isaacson — who’s studied and written about Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, Ben Franklin, and Leonardo da Vinci – spent 2 years shadowing Elon Musk and it clearly shows in this fascinating book. You really get to know Musk as an inventor and as a person, and you feel like a fly on the wall watching things like Tesla development and SpaceX launches. You also learn about Musk’s tough childhood in South Africa and how that shaped him.

Elon Musk Book Review

I have not read any other biographies by Walter Isaacson. But I like his writing style in Elon Musk. He followed Elon around for 2 years. Everywhere. So you really get a glimpse of what is life is/was like.

This is a high quality book. Unlike the paper cover on other hardcover books, this one is made of a thicker, glossier paper, so it’s sturdier. The front and rear flyleaves have full coverage photos.

I love that each chapter not only has a name, but is labeled with the place and the years that it covers. It makes it super easy to follow the story line. There are a lot of pictures included. Not only of Elon, but of his family, friends, and colleagues.

Biographies are my favorite genre of books. I found Elon Musk to be an in depth biography. Not just skimming the highlights of his life. I have enjoyed reading this book.

There is a comprehensive notes section, as well as an index included. Something that I appreciate in a biography.

No matter if you have only recently heard of Elon Musk, or have been following his career for years, you will love this book. I found it fascinating!

Buy the book HERE Here is an exclusive 40% discount off the hardcover by using code MUSK40 until April 15.

April 1, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy Leave a Comment

I recently received The Jesus Storybook Bible & My Little Library of God’s Great Love books. They are awesome little books! Check out my book review below.

The Jesus Storybook Bible Book Review

About the Book

Trusted and treasured for over a decade, The Jesus Storybook Bible has been introducing children to God’s wonderful story, and the Savior at the center of that story. With over 6 million copies sold, The Jesus Storybook Bible is the quintessential book for parents, grandparents, pastors, and anyone else who wants to share God’s Never Stopping, Never Giving Up, Unbreaking, Always and Forever Love with children. While other kids’ Bibles contain stories from the Old and New Testaments, The Jesus Storybook Bible tells the Story beneath all the stories in the Bible, pointing to Jesus as our Savior. From the Old Testament through the New Testament, as the Story unfolds, children will clearly see that Jesus is at the center of God’s great story of salvation—and at the center of their story too.

The Jesus Storybook Bible is a perfect book to start reading Bible stories to little ones. There is a presentation page making this a perfect gift.

The Jesus Storybook Bible is 350 pages long, with 44 stories from both the Old Testament, and the New Testament. The stories are are all 6 or more pages long. However, most pages have pictures.

The colors and illustrations will keep your child’s attention while they are listening to the stories. This is a solid hardcover book that is a great size. Perfect for holding the book and a child at the same time.

My Little Library of God’s Great Love Book Review

About the Books

This is a 4 in 1 box set! These simply written board books remind little ones of God’s enduring love, his nearness, and his protection. From the author of the bestselling The Jesus Storybook Bible, Sally Lloyd-Jones, and award-winning illustrator Jago, bring you this 4-book boxed set of board books, which encourages young and old alike to remember that we are all loved in very special ways by God.

I love this little set of four books. The four titles are:

Loved: The Lord’s Prayer, Found: Psalm 23, Near: Psalm 139, Known: Psalm 139.

Each book has 11 board pages, with the pages having only a sentence or two on them. The drawings are pretty, and so sweet. With calming, and soothing colors. This set of four books in one case are the perfect first books for little ones.

The Jesus Storybook Bible & My Little Library of God’s Great Love are awesome little books. I’m excited to give these to my grandchildren. I know they are going to love them. And so are their parents!

They make excellent gifts. And with Easter coming, they are all the perfect size to fit in their baskets!

When Skies Aren’t Blue Book Review

March 31, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy Leave a Comment

I recently read the book When Skies Aren’t Blue. The tag line of is A Physician’s Personal Journey. Dr. Andy Laurie, a medical professional and a pastor, shares his personal story. And the spiritual help he found that got him through being seriously ill for years.

About the Book

Andy Laurie, MD, had a successful medical practice, and was starting a second career as a pastor. He had a beautiful, loving wife and four small children. His life was seemingly perfect.

Then he was struck with a devastating illness. It took him a long time, and multiple doctors to get a diagnosis. Only to find out there was no cure. He has now been battling this illness for almost two decades. In When Skies Aren’t Blue, Dr. Laurie has written prescriptions for you to find hope, strength, contentment, and joy.

About the Author

Dr. Andy Laurie is a board-certified radiologist who received his medical degree from UC San Diego. He did his post graduate residency at the University of Arizona. He practiced emergency radiology for nearly thirty years before illness caused him to recently retire. In addition, he has been a pastor at The Bridge Christian Church in Tucson, Arizona, for nearly twenty years. For much of this time, he has courageously battled a devastating disease of the autonomic nervous system. Dr. Laurie and his wife, Cyndi, were married in 1991 after he graduated from medical school. They have four grown children and make their home in Tucson with their beloved dogs.

When Skies Aren’t Blue Book Review

In When Skies Aren’t Blue the author is very transparent and authentic. He not only shares about his illness, but his thoughts, feelings, and spiritual needs. The good, and the bad. Then shares Bible verses and spiritual insight into what it’s like living with a serious and chronic illness, and what we can do to find the strength to go on, with hope and joy.

The book is divided into 10 chapters that the author calls Powerful Steps. The chapters average 7 pages each, so they are not long. That makes it easy to read for one that is not feeling well, and for those with busy schedules.

There are several graphics throughout the book to emphasize what the author is discussing.

Each chapter, or Powerful Step, ends with a prayer for you to pray. As well as a Prescription For When Skies Aren’t Blue. These prescriptions contain specific steps that you can take today that will help you find hope and strength when your skies definitely aren’t blue. They will help you find joy and contentment when the struggles of life have darkened your blue skies.

This may make it sound like a simple book. But it definitely is not. The author uses his personal experience to show us what it’s like to be in the trenches. And what it is like to be in the trenches for an extended period of time yet have hope and a growing relationship with God. One that will help us to not only get through the day, but to do so victoriously.

I highly recommend When Skies Aren’t Blue for anyone, with any struggle they are battling.

March 25, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

The Chosen is one of the most-watched shows in the world. It’s a groundbreaking historical drama based on the life of Jesus seen through the eyes of those who knew him. As of July 27, 2024, over 250 million viewers have watched The Chosen. The seven-season series shares an authentic and intimate look at Jesus’ revolutionary life and teachings.

The Chosen: The Last Supper

And now, the new The Chosen: Last Supper is releasing in theaters in 3 parts! Part One (episodes 1-2) releases on March 28; Part Two (episodes 3-5) releases on April 4; and Part Three (episodes 6-8) releases on April 11. You don’t want to miss this!

The Chosen: Last Supper

Synopsis:

The table is set.
The people of Israel welcome Jesus as king while his disciples anticipate his crowning. But—instead of confronting Rome—he turns the tables on the Jewish religious festival. Their power threatened, the country’s religious and political leaders will go to any length to ensure this Passover meal is Jesus’ last.
Shot in a beautiful cinematic format, The Chosen: Last Supper brings the most pivotal week in history to audiences in this special three-part theatrical release.

The Chosen: The Last Supper

I just finished watching episode 1. And I loved it! If you haven’t watched The Chosen before, it’s ok. You don’t have to see previous seasons to enjoy it, and follow along. I do think once you see this, you will want to go back and watch them all.

Watch the Trailer!

The Chosen: Last Supper Movie Review

If you have watched The Chosen, then you know the look and feel of the series. These new episodes released in theaters, have the same look and feel. It is very well done. The acting, the directing, the scenery and costumes. It has a very dramatic feel to it. The music fits the scenes as well.

The Chosen: The Last Supper

The Chosen: Last Supper is directed by Dallas Jenkins and stars Jonathan Roumie as Jesus. The rest of the cast consists of:
Shahar Isaac – Simon Peter
Elizabeth Tabish – Mary Magdalene
Paras Patel – Matthew
Noa James – Andrew

The Chosen: The Last Supper

The Chosen: The Last Supper has no rating listed listed, but it is suitable for everyone. There are a few very dramatic scenes, and scenes with swords being used, not close up, and no blood is shown. Also included is a scene where there is a fire, and a person runs out of the scene with fire on their back. I like to share this information so you know if you want to take your kids or not. Hopefully, you find it helpful.

The Chosen: The Last Supper
The Chosen: The Last Supper

I highly recommend The Chosen: Last Supper. Reading these stories in the Bible is amazing. But watching these scenes come to life really helps us see who Jesus is, and what he did, in a way that is easier for many to relate to.

I loved the first episode, and can’t wait to see the rest of it in theaters. I’m also excited to see the rest of the episodes when they release.

I Am Living Proof Movie Review

March 6, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy 14 Comments

I just finished watching I Am Living Proof. It’s a new documentary in theaters March 9. I am Living Proof covers what happened when thousands gathered under a revival tent in Colorado Springs as churches across the community joined forces to host renowned evangelist Mario Murillo.

I Am Living Proof

Synopsis:

I Am Living Proof is a compelling and intimate look into the lives of three individuals who face an extraordinary life-altering event. Bri, once a promising student, finds her academic dreams derailed by an illness that’s deteriorating her body. For seven years, she’s caught in a cycle of failed medical treatments and excruciating pain, pushing her toward assisted suicide.

Steve’s life spirals out of control after a workplace accident leaves him dependent on opioids. Jobless and desperate, he attempts to end it all with an overdose. Mary, a mother of five, faces debilitating pain from a spinal injury that leaves her unable to care for her children—until a vivid dream sparks an unexpected turning point.

Unbeknownst to them, their paths are about to intersect with Mario Murillo, a traveling preacher who’s spent his life sharing God’s love and healing power when his old-school-style tent revival happens to be in town. This chance encounter challenges their beliefs and offers a glimmer of hope in their darkest hours.

I Am Living Proof chronicles their transformative experiences as we together meet the real God of miracles.

Watch the Trailer!

I Am Living Proof Movie Review

I Am Living Proof is not rated. However, it is suitable for the whole family. This documentary uses the history of tent revivals, Bible verses, and personal stories to show us that miracles still happen. Three people are followed from the tent revival, to interviews where they explain their condition and discuss what happened at the moment of the miracle, and doctor visits. Their own doctors are shown with them, showing their x-rays, and explaining their conditions before. And what has changed in their conditions.

Mario Murillo speaks throughout the documentary. And again at the end where he talks directly to the viewer.

While watching I Am Living Proof, it was very slow in the beginning. It is a documentary, after all. However, as I continued watching it held my interest. I didn’t want to stop watching, even when others were trying to get me away from my computer.

This is a compelling, powerful documentary. I am a Christian, and I believe in God’s healing power. I have a family member that was healed instantly of a sickness. (Not at these tent revivals. And for their privacy, I won’t share more. It’s not my story to tell anyway.)

Whether you are wondering if God and miracles are real, or know they are. Whether you need a healing, or have been healed. I highly recommend you go see I Am Living Proof. Miracles bring hope. And they still happen today!

Here’s a quote from I Am Living Proof.

You can definitely realize your sins are forgiven without seeing a miracle. But also, you can not deny that miracles, in some instances, aid in the act of proving to people that their sins are forgiven.
