Hero – DVD Review & Giveaway

November 6, 2014 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I recently received the dvd Hero to review.  Hero is a great family movie that reminds us all how important a father is in a child’s life. Hero is from the producers of Alone Yet Not Alone.

HERO DVD Review

In a movie sure to inspire fathers and sons alike, Hero presents an all-star cast including Burgess Jenkins (Remember the Titans, Nashville, The Shunning),  Gregory Alan Williams (In the Line of Fire, The Preacher’s Kid), R. Keith Harris (Big Fish), and Mark Joy (The Ultimate Gift). The film also includes a musical score by Grammy winner, Michael Omartian. For more information visit the Hero movie website

Hero – DVD Review & Giveaway

Joe Finn was a small town baseball coach for so long, that the town considers him a legend. He left town, and his family, to take his shot as a scout for the big leagues. He has now returned home, only to find out how much damage he really caused by leaving his family. He now wants to rebuild his relationship with his son, David. Only his son doesn’t want a relationship with him. David is now the coach of a ragtag little league baseball team. His father shows up to help him coach. Since all the kids and their fathers recognize him, David allows him to stay and help with the team.

One of Joe’s new rules is that the dad’s have to come to practice, too. The movie shows some of the boys, what their lives are like, and what their dad’s have to go through to get to practice. The dad’s being at practice, and the games, means more to the boys, and makes a bigger difference in their lives than David could imagine.

I watched Hero with my family, and we all loved it. It’s not just a baseball movie. It’s a movie that shows the importance of fathers.  Through sports, these fathers and sons reconnect. It not only changes them, and their baseball team, it changes the whole town.

I would like to watch this with my family because I have an 11 year old son. We cut off our cable due to all the trash on tv and now focus on getting only family dvds to watch. I want my son to have good strong family values when he grows up.

I like the idea of wholesome movies. There are so many movies I would have loved to walk out of the theater because they were so nasty. Thank you

I’d love to watch this because so many movies today make the parents – especially the Dads – look like fools! This is a much more realistic movie, I think!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
