Iesodo (pronounced Yay-Sa-Doe), is a wise dove whose name means “The Way of Jesus”. Iesodo and his lovable feathered friends live in the Holy Land in a beautiful Cypress Tree on the shores of a vast Lake (the Sea of Galilee to us). The Cypress Tree is a cool tree. It has hollowed out branches for the birds to live and play in. The birds are an unlikely group of friends, and though they have their differences, they have one thing in common: since they met Iesodo, their lives have never been the same!
Joy is the fourth dvd in the Iesodo series. The first three are Believe, Love, and Faith. Iesodo is a Dove Award winner. It also has received the Homeschool.com 2014 Seal of Approval.
Iesodo Joy DVD Review
In Iesodo Joy, Iesodo and all his friends celebrate Iesodo’s birthday. In Iesodo Joy, For Unto Us a Dove is Born. Iesodo’s friends are preparing to celebrate Iesodo’s birthday. They decorate the tree, prepare food, and plan presents for Iesodo’s surprise birthday party. Rocky, one of Iesodo’s bird friends, decides to tell everyone the story of Iesodo’s birth, which is actually an imaginative retelling of the Nativity story. The Wise Men are owls, and they ride on turtles instead of camels.
Iesodo is then surprised with a great birthday party by all his friends. Iesodo Joy is a fun retelling of the Nativity for little kids. I really liked how all of Iesodo’s friends, even if they don’t always get along, worked together to surprise him for his birthday.
Iesodo Joy is approximately 50 minutes long, and suitable for the whole family. Young and old (er) alike will love the eye catching graphics, and great songs. Some of the songs are new for this dvd, and some are remakes of holiday carols.
Please visit the Iesodo website for more information. They have a lot to offer – a music video, a behind the scenes video, family discussion guides, printable activity sheets, and more.
