My niece got married last Saturday. It was a beautiful wedding. The bride and groom did a large portion of the wedding planning and purchasing themselves. They really did a great job! Here’s a few pictures.
My oldest daughter telling her “little” brother what to do. lol She’s not quite 7 years older them him, but he’s now several inches taller than her. She was wearing heels that day. lol
My three girls were sitting behind me, so I just had to take a picture. They are so beautiful! Hannah on the left is 18, Melissa is 26, and Abby on the right is 15.
The ceremony was short, just the way the bride and groom wanted it. They had two flower girls. This little one did a great job of distributing the flower petals. Then, when the ceremony was over and everyone started to walk back down the aisle, she thought she had to pick them all up. lol Everyone else had already walked back down the aisle, and she was still picking up the petals. It was so cute!
They had a dj for the reception. There wasn’t much dancing, but the bride and her father danced. I don’t know the name of the song, but it was something about fathers and daughters. lol She walked down the aisle to the Cinderella song, I don’t remember the name of it, either. lol Anyway, back to the dance. I just love the way the bride is looking up smiling at her father, my little brother.
Here’s a picture of my little momma, on the left, the bride, and me on the right. I just love the colors they chose. I hadn’t seen these colors used in a wedding before, and everything was really beautiful.
Weddings are always a good time to get families together. Mine is no exception. Here’s a picture I took of 5 of my kids at the reception. Our oldest son couldn’t make it to the wedding. They are a great looking bunch of kids, if I do say so myself. lol
See the jar, with the lid, with the “T’s” on the sides? They had candy kisses in them, with a handmade tag hanging from it with twine that said, “Hugs & Kisses from the Mr. & Mrs.” So cute! I took this jar, by the way. lol The tradition always was that someone at each table got to keep the centerpiece. I don’t know if anyone follows that tradition anymore, but I took it anyway. lol If the bride wants it back, I’ll give it to her. My daughter was talking about filling it up with something and giving it to them for their 1st anniversary. Sounds like a great idea. The only way I’ll part with it, is to give it back to the bride and groom. lol
This was the first wedding of one of our nieces or nephews. I admit it, I cried. lol We have several on both sides of the family, so there are a lot of weddings in our future. I better stock up on tissues.
Please tell me I’m not the only one that cries at weddings! lol
