Dolphin Tale 2, inspired by true events, continues the story of the brave dolphin Winter, whose miraculous rescue and recovery—thanks to a groundbreaking prosthetic tail—made her a symbol of hope and perseverance to people around the world and inspired the 2011 family hit movie “Dolphin Tale.” This film reunites the entire main cast, led by Harry Connick Jr., Oscar winner Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, Kris Kristofferson, and of course, the remarkable dolphin Winter as herself. Champion surfer Bethany Hamilton, who has been an example of courage, also appears in the film.
It has been several years since young Sawyer Nelson and the dedicated team at the Clearwater Marine Hospital, headed by Dr. Clay Haskett, rescued Winter. With the help of Dr. Cameron McCarthy, who developed a unique prosthetic tail for the injured dolphin, they were able to save her life. Yet their fight is not over. Winter’s surrogate mother, the very elderly dolphin Panama, has passed away, leaving Winter without the only pool mate she has ever known. However, the loss of Panama may have greater repercussions for Winter, who, according to USDA regulations, cannot be housed alone, as dolphins’ social behavior requires them to be paired with other dolphins. Time is running out to find a companion for her before the team at Clearwater loses their beloved Winter to another aquarium.
To go along with the movie, Dolphin Tale 2, they have designed a homeschool curriculum. You can now get this curriculum for free! You do have to register on the Homeschool Movie Club website to be able to view the curriculum. Registration is free. Once you register, you can sign in to view the curriculum or to download it to your computer. This curriculum is not just for homeschoolers! You can use this with your children at home, no matter where they go to school, to help them learn more about dolphins and the ocean.
The Dolphin Tale 2 Homeschool Curriculum consists of 5 lessons. Each lesson has a video, and a printable pdf.

Each lesson covers an aspect of dolphins, the ocean and how this information relates to the movie. All of the lessons contain instructions and activities for elementary to high school-aged students, along with age-appropriate explanations and vocabulary. Students will be keeping a notebook while doing the lessons.The lessons contain stories with comprehension questions, activities, vocabulary words, coloring pages, and more.

We saw the first one many times. I was born and raised so close to this aquarium and loved many trips there. I can not wait to see the second movie.

My son and daughter watched Dolphin Tale together last week and loved it. They enjoyed giving writing a recount afterwards. Today we saw Dolphin Tale 2 at the cinema and although I hadn;t seen the first movie, I can see why they loved it so much!

I went to the 1 st movie with my daughter and I took her to see #2 and in January we want to go see winter and hope my daughter maybe 19 yrs but she wants to see them because Becky herself is also paralyzed from hips down so this would ‘ve really awesome..
Yes, we saw the first Dolphin Tale movie and it was definitely a family favorite! We can’t wait to see the second one because we loved the first one so much! One day we would like to meet them in person when we go to Florida on vacation.
