One of my daughters bought me some yarn for Christmas. I usually make stuff for other people instead of myself. Since the yarn was a gift, I decided it was only fitting to make something for myself.
My New Crocheted Hat and Cowl
I used these patterns to make my hat and cowl.
Hypnotic Heart Crocheted Slouch Hat
The patterns are easy to follow, and work up quick. I actually made the cowl with only about half as many rows as the pattern. Modeled here by my teenage daughter, the cowl fits me about the same as her. It’s plenty big enough for me to pull up to cover the lower half of my face.
While the patterns called for more than one color, I love the way it turned out with just the brown.
Here’s the yarn I used. This yarn is soooo soft. It has a slight variation in color, with a sheen to it. It’s very pretty. I used about 1 1/2 skeins to make both the hat and cowl. It would probably take the full two skeins if you make the cowl according to the pattern.
