Getting Healthy with Linda

May 1, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I have carried a pedometer for a long time. It’s a great tool to help you see how active you really are. In my quest to get healthy, I treated myself to this.

Getting Healthy with Linda

It was delivered on Wednesday, and so far I am loving my new Vivofit! It’s comfortable, and has the date and time visible also. It not only tells me how many steps I have taken, but how many calories I burned, including the base metabolic rate. I also like that I can sync it with my phone and have all the information on the app there.  One of the most important features is the activity bar. It turns red to remind you when you’ve been still too long. It really has encouraged me to get up and walk more.

I have often wondering how accurate my pedometer was. Some days it seemed to me that I did a lot more walking then it showed. The Vivofit is proving to me that it was under-reporting my steps. So I’m happy to see a higher step number.

Here are my steps for the last week:

Friday      5027

Saturday    4420

Sunday    3444

Monday     4076

Tuesday    5230

Wednesday    old pedometer partial day 1889 , new Vivofit  from about 5 pm on 1979

Thursday   7722

Today’s steps are more than yesterdays, so far. 🙂

This coming week, I plan on keeping my step count up, and increasing it until I can consistently keep it up to 10,000 a day. I also am going to go back to entering everything I eat in My Fitness Pal on my phone.

Come, join me on my quest to get healthy! What are you doing this week to get healthier?

I have been thinking about getting one of these, but I’m wondering if I need more technology in my life. I like how it also tracks your sleep though. And that activity bar is something I really need. Sitting at my desk all day I need a reminder to get up more often!

The activity bar really helps! It really encourages me to get in more steps so I don’t have to look at the red. lol

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17 NKJV
