I love a good biography. I, also, have loved listening to the music of Rebecca St. James and For King + Country for years. By the way, one of my kids just told me a couple of months ago that they are siblings! So when I heard about the new movie Unsung Hero, I knew I would love it. I just watched it, and I was right. I love it!
Unsung Hero
Synopsis:
When David Smallbone’s successful music company collapses, he moves his family from Australia to the United States in search of a brighter future. With nothing more than their six children, their suitcases, and their love of music, David (for KING + COUNTRY’s Joel Smallbone) and his pregnant wife Helen (Daisy Betts) set out to rebuild their lives from the ground up. Based on a remarkable true story, a mum’s faith stands against all odds; and inspires her husband and children to hold onto theirs.

Unsung Hero Movie Review
I was moved to tears several times over the things that God did for them. I actually lost track of the number of times I was moved to tears. But Unsung Hero is not just a tearjerker. It’s a story of faith, hope, and love of family. And what God can do in our lives.
The family moved to the United States with the promise of a job. When they got here, the job was gone. They started taking care of yards to have money coming in. They also added housecleaning to make ends meet. The whole family pitched in to work together, and to put all the money earned into the family money jar. All while, the father, David, kept looking for work in the music industry.
So many things happened to knock them down. A health scare, hospital bills, no vehicle, depression, among others. The whole time, the family prayed, worked, and stuck together.
On of my favorite parts was the Please and Thank You wall. The family started writing down what they were praying for and put it under the Please heading on the wall. It was so cool to watch their prayers come to fruition and them moving the requests to the Thank You side.

Interview with Luke Smallbone
Unsung Hero ends with Rebecca getting a record deal. I did not want the movie to end! I wanted more of this beautiful family’s story. Thankfully, at the end of the movie, we see pictures of each of the family members, and what they are doing now. So be sure to stay for the credits when you see this movie in theaters.
I loved this movie! Unsung Hero is an awesome family movie, suitable for all ages. I highly recommend you see this movie!
