My Children are Odd

October 28, 2009 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

As of today, my children are all odd.

Today is C’s 15th birthday. So my childrens ages are 23, 21, 15, 13, 11, and 9.

See, they are all odd.

Until H turns 14 in about 6 weeks. Next December, they will all be even.

But it’s more fun to say my children are odd.

Oh, Happy 15th Birthday C!

Too Cold, Too Soon

October 17, 2009 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

It’s never good when your computer greets you with this:

“Special Weather Statement”

It’s going to start off as light rain, then change to a mix of rain and snow by midnight.

NO!!!

I guess I’ll be bundling up. I bet the electric company will love this early winter weather.

but not me!

The Secrets of Jonathon Sperry

October 2, 2009 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Have you heard about this new movie? The Secrets of Jonathon Sperry is a Christian movie about 3 twelve year old boys and a 75 year old man set in the summer of 1970.

We are really looking forward to seeing this movie. So far, the nearest theatre that is showing it is an hour away. You can check HERE to see if it’s playing near you. They are adding more theatres weekly, so I’m hoping it comes to one closer to us. If we have to, we will probably drive the hour each way to take the kids to see it.

Here’s an article about Gavin McLeod who stars as Jonathon Sperry.

Christians must support Christian movies. Take your family to see this movie. Send a message to Hollywood that we want more Christian movies for our families to watch.

The Rules of Chocolate

October 1, 2009 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

If you’ve got melted chocolate all over your hands, you’re eating it too slowly.

Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices & strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.

The problem: How to get 2 pounds of chocolate home from the store in hot car.
The solution: Eat it in the parking lot.

Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It’ll take the edge off your appetite and you’ll eat less.

A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Isn’t that handy?

If you can’t eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer.
But if you can’t eat all your chocolate, what’s wrong with you?

If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge. Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.

If I eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate, is that a balanced diet? Don’t they actually counteract each other?

Money talks. Chocolate sings.

Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger.

If not for chocolate, there would be no need for control top pantyhose. An entire garment industry would be devastated. You help keep the economy moving. Be proud.

Put “eat chocolate” at the top of your list of things to-do-today. That way, at least you’ll get one thing done.

Why is there no such organization as Chocoholics Anonymous?
Because no one wants to quit.

1. Her coffee table never has dust on it.

2. Many have eaten off of her kitchen floor.

3. Better Homes and Gardens just did a photo shoot in her living room.

6. All of her children are straight A students, musical geniuses, and all-star athletes.

7. Her hair is always fixed perfectly and her make-up is artfully applied.

8. She does not touch make-up or hairspray because it is vain and the art of Satan.

9. She never makes a bad decision.

10. She is classroom mom, PTO President, the bearer of orange slices at soccer games, and the church committee queen.

New Cell Phone

June 23, 2009 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I had to buy a new cell phone. My other one wasn’t broken, but I didn’t get signal in my town. I had to leave town to get signal. Stupid I know, but someone tell that to Tracfone! lol So I got a prepaid phone with a local provider IN county.

C & H are staying home sometimes now, and I don’t like that they can’t get in touch with me whenever they want.

DH didn’t have a flip phone, so he was always pressing buttons and making calls while working. Funny, yeah, except it used his minutes. So he got my old flip phone, which will work great for him, as he works out of the county. C got DH’s old phone, because he put his through the washing machine.

Cell phones don’t like the washing machines…

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
