When Last…..

June 27, 2008 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I was heard from, I was getting ready to go camping. We did, and we had a blast! The guys went around 7, and us girls didn’t get there until after 9.

We had so much fun! Visiting with everyone, watching the kids play, sitting around the fire, getting in on some of the games.

I lost a game of horse (basketball) to a 12 yo boy! But on the bright side, I outlasted 4 of my children!! hehehe

My second game of horse took place at 1 in the morning. With 1 other lady, and about 10 kids, the youngest being 5. Needless to say, this game went on for a couple of hours! And yes, yet again, I came in second. lol

I have never played basketball so well in my entire life!!!!

I think I discovered the key to playing basketball well. Playing at 1 in the morning! lol

By 3 a.m. 3 of the kids had gone to bed in the tents that were already set up when I got there. 🙂

We gave it up at 4, but I thought if it wouldn’t be better to just stay up at that point. H went to bed at 4, too, asking why she had to go to bed. lol
We woke up at 6 for breakfast prepared by some of the ladies in church. Eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, juice, milk, coffee.

That’s when I realized that it really would have been better to just stay up, instead of going to sleep! While I felt fine before I went to sleep, I felt horrible when I woke up! And for the rest of the day, too, even though I tried to sleep after we got home.

I even went so far as to tell D that if I ever tried to stay up until 4 again, to smack me!

One of the other women said yeah, we can do our socializing during the day. And I’m in TOTAL agreement!

This week has been totally crazy! Vacation Bible School started on Sunday, and ended last night. I’ll give more details when I get the pics off the camera. Tonight is the pool party for the kids. Well, and the adults, too! Should be fun, and relaxing! Let’s hope so, anyway!

Be back later, (or tomorrow) with pictures!

Headache…..

June 20, 2008 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

yeah, I have one. 🙁

I didn’t get to bed until 1 Wednesday night (Thursday morning!!) And not until after 11 last night.

And guess what?

We’re going camping at church tonight. It was postponed from last week.

Did I mention that all the kids are planning on staying up all night?

Well, they are…..

Which means no sleep for me….again tonight…

Which means you probably shouldn’t talk to me tomorrow because I’ll be as grumpy as an old bear, with a bear sized headache.

But even given all of the above, I am looking forward to going camping tonight.
No really, I am! Our kids have been wanting to go camping for a long time. They are so excited!

Thankfully, we don’t have much to pack. Just our bedding (and our borrowed tents), as the church is getting the food for tonight and breakfast (at 6 a.m.!!!!) tomorrow. I will still pack a couple of snacks for D, high carb and low carb, so He can keep his blood sugars stable.

I’ll try and come back later and post a picture of what I did yesterday!

Scary Lights and Other Fascinating Things

June 13, 2008 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

Hold on a sec…the cake timer just started beeping…

Ok, I’m back. The cake is done, and is now cooling. 🙂

Today is our oldest sons 22nd birthday. Wow! How’s that happen?? But that explains the cake coming out of the oven.

Last night at about 11, he came knocking on our door “There’s something wierd going on out here”

We’re like “What???”

He said “There are lights that keep going on and off out here. All over the place.”

D told him that the kids had let lightening bugs loose in the house.

He said “Oh….”

ROFLOL…………And we really were!!!! lol

When we got up this morning there was a jar with a lightening bug in it sitting on the piano. With a note that said “Do NOT (underlined several times lol) Let These Loose in the House!!!!

ROFLOL

The Phone company was out today, for the second day in a row. At least today, they fixed our phone. He said one of the old jacks from another phone line we used to have was still live (had a dial tone) and one of the wires in it shorted out, and affected the phone line we use.
Not sure I’m buying that. Because in the first place, if the line still had a dial tone, I’m SURE the phone company would have still been billing us for it!! And how can one phone line affect a totally seperate phone line?

Anyway, at least it’s fixed! For which I’m thankful.

We were supposed to go camping tonight at church, But I received a message that it was cancelled. I don’t know why, as my phone wasn’t working, and they had to call my mother in law next door and leave a message for me over there. The kids are bummed. Yeah, I am too. It would have been fun! In a stay up all night and I’ll have a migraine for 3 days sort of way. No, it really would have been fun, and totally worth the migraine!

I have chili cooking for Cincinnati style chili and spaghetti. Yummo!

And then, it’s on to the cake!!

Just Another Day in Paradise

May 15, 2008 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I love this song! Duane actually showed me the video on tv when it first came out. Substitute the dog on the table for a cat who runs off with your supper, and the run away washing machine for run away goats, and…and….and….Add 4 kittens and 6 baby chicks in the house, 4 kids with colds, weeds that are already threatening to take over the gardens, and more work than you can get done and you have my Day in Paradise.
No, really, I wouldn’t trade it for anything!!!!
I love being here!
This video does make me laugh, though. I’m working on rearranging several rooms (yeah, all at once, just call me crazy and get it over with!) and getting rid of “stuff” but I will be back to blogging daily, soon.

Fascinating

May 7, 2008 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I must say, I find it fascinating as well. 🙂
We’ve had it for a couple of weeks now, and I LOVE it! We had planned on getting the dryer, also. But this washer spins the clothes so well, they are pratically dry when the come out! They are drying on the line by the time the next load is done. So now I’m seriously thinking about NOT getting the dryer.

Anyway, I’ve been busy doing laundry. 🙂
