Today’s trip to the clinic went well. They were super busy. I’m sure it was because a lot of people, like me, canceled last week because of weather. See, all the off treatments kids are seen on Wednesdays. That’s “our” day. Of course, they see kids that need chemo that day, too. But they want off treatment kids to go only on Wednesdays. Not a bad deal, because that way, you see people that are “where you are”. So Calen did well, he passed his exam, with all body parts being present and accounted for. Which is good, since in the past he has had certain parts that have gone into hiding. 🙂 He did well with the blood draw, even though his beloved Bennita wasn’t there, and he had someone else. Bennita is soooo good! She just slides the needle in, real easy like, and gets it right the first time! If only we all had “Bennita’s” when we had to have blood drawn! So, we had a good trip, we didn’t stop anywhere else, so we made it back to town in time to have lunch with D. Then we went to pick up Mel’s senior pics. But they weren’t in yet. sigh I called Mel, who was babysitting, from the store to ask her if we needed anything. Of course, she said “chocolate”. So I brought some home. I told D “the babysitter” said we needed some, so of course, I had to bring some home. 🙂 “The BabySitter” was pleased, and happy to know that all it takes is for the babysitter to say we need it! lol
Tackle It Tuesday!

This week, I tackled getting some of our seeds planted. I still have quite a few things to start from seed, but I ran out of potting soil. 20 pounds worth! I also repotted three Lemon Button Ferns. The plan is, by spring they will be nice and big to hang on the back porch. Those big ferns are so expensive in the spring! All the other conainers, where you see just dirt, 🙂 have been planted with seeds, lavender, sage, feverfew, oregano, basil, anise, cherry tomatoes, roma tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, bell peppers, cabbage, broccoli. Lots and lots of them! I still have more cabbage to start, as well as more tomatoes, after I get more potting soil.
D helped plant a couple of trays over the weekend, as well as putting up a piece of plywood infront of the dining room window for our “greenhouse”
Free Day
I cancelled Calen’s Dr appt for today. It’s in the big city, 2 hours away, and the roads were just to bad to venture out. So he’s rescheduled for next week. And I have a free day, since I wasn’t planning on being home for most of the day today. Supper is “planned over” chicken, and “planned over” mashed potatoes and some veggies. So no cooking for me tonight.
So, what am I going to do with my freeday? You see where I am now, don’t you? lol I need to finish updating my project page. Then I’m going to make a crocheted rug. There was some rug yarn in the very large bag of yarn that G~ gave me. See all the yarn?
The rug yarn is the perfect colors for rugs for the kitchen that I need so desperatly. Because I live with pigs, ya know. Pigs that think all the mud belongs in the house! sigh Nothing fancy, just good sturdy rugs that can stand up to pigs. lol No fringe or anything fancy. Who has time to straighten the fringe on the rugs?
Ok, I’m off to finish updating My Project page, and then on to the crocheting. I do need to update the farm blog, also, if there’s time.
Tackle It Tuesday….

This week Calen has an appointment at the oncology clinic. And I was soooo far behind in my afghan making for them. So for my tackle this week, I crocheted like a mad woman. Since last Wednesday morning, I made 8 afghans, start to finish. I also finished 2 afghans that I had already started. These are lap afghans for the kids to use in the clinic.
Here’s a pic of all 15 afghans that I’m taking to the clinic this week:
Here’s one of them unfolded. I used Susan’s Puffy Flower Afghan Sqaure pattern that she shared for all the purple and pink afghans. Even though they don’t look purple and pink in the pic.
You can see the puffy flower better in this pic.
When I Said I Do
These times are troubled and these times are good
And they’re always gonna be, they rise and they fall
We take ’em all the way that we should
Together you and me forsaking them all
Deep in the night and by the light of day
It always looks the same, true love always does
And here by your side, or a million miles away
Nothin’s ever gonna change the way that I feel,
The way it is, is the way that it was
When I said I do, I meant that I will ’til the end of all time
Be faithful and true, devoted to you
That’s what I had in mind when I said I do
Well this old world keeps changin’, and the world stays the same
For all who came before, and it goes hand and hand
Only you and I can undo all that we became
That makes us so much more, than a woman and a man
And after everything that comes and goes around
Has only passed us by, here alone in our dreams
I know there’s a lonely heart in every lost and found
But forever you and I will be the ones
Who found out what forever means
When I said I do, I meant that I will ’til the end of all time
Be faithful and true, devoted to you
That’s what I had in mind when I said I do
Truer than true, you know that I’ll always be there for you
That’s what I had in mind, that’s what I had in mind,
When I said I do

Lunch…If you can call it that…
“What is this? Some kind of punishment?” – Abby
hmmmph…..I make a nice homemade beef (flavored) vegetable soup with pasta stars, no less…. and it’s viewed as a punishment!
sigh….
To my other children’s credit, they all liked it.
To each his own, I guess…..
Tackle It Tuesday!

This week, I tackled making new curtains for the kitchen and laundry room. Nothing fancy, but then, I’m not a fancy kind of gal. 🙂
and after….
I threw those blinds straight into the trash can! YEAH!! I’m not totally happy with the kitchen. I had visions of not being able to see the top of the curtains at all, because the grapevine swag covered it. But that didn’t work out. I like it, it’s just not what I had in mind, so will take some time getting used to. D had to make “nails” to hang the swag with. We didn’t have any real nails long enough. So he made me some, and hung it up. what a guy! 🙂
