Cooking With the Computer

October 6, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy 8 Comments

I like to keep a lot of my recipes on the computer instead of printing them all out. I used to walk back and forth between the kitchen and the schoolroom where the computer was to check recipes. Now that I have my laptop, I put it on the table. That makes it very convenient.

Cooking with the Computer

But then I discovered another problem. Using the computer with sticky or flour covered hands. I came up with a solution.

I covered the keyboard with plastic wrap while I was cooking. I can scroll down to read the recipe, and stop and re-start a video. Like in this picture, where my daughter was watching a video on braiding bread while following along.

We can follow along, without getting flour in the keyboard. When we’re done, we just roll up the plastic wrap, and throw it away.

What a smart idea! I also cook with my laptop quite a bit but had to constantly wash my hands. This makes so much sense! Thanks for sharing 🙂

[…] My family has ordered to write down all improvised recipe, because many times I have thrown something together and they have loved it and then I can’t remember what I did. So I now bring my computer into the kitchen with me to jot down notes while I’m cooking. I use Linda’s tip for cooking with a computer. […]

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
