The World’s Easiest Candy

This World’s Easiest Candy is so good! And it really is the easiest candy to make!

Kids, and adults, alike love this candy! It will be a hit whether you’re taking it to someone, or making it for your family.

The World’s Easiest Candy

1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 sleeve saltine crackers
1 12 oz package chocolate chips

Spray a cookie sheet with oil, or line pan with foil. I really have never had trouble removing this from the cookie sheet, though. Here’s the kind I use…..

Line cookie sheet with a single layer of saltine crackers. If you don’t use the whole sleeve, that’s ok. I have one cookie sheet that is a little bigger, and I use a few more crackers from another sleeve, breaking them in half as needed to fill the pan.

Bring butter and brown sugar to boil and boil for 5 minutes. Evenly poor this mixture over the crackers. It doesn’t have to be perfect, as it will spread in the oven.

Bake for 5-10 minutes at 350*. You’ll want to watch, so it doesn’t burn. Remove from oven when the mixture is nice and bubbling.

As soon as you remove it from the oven, evenly sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top. Wait a minute for the chocolate to melt, then spread with a knife or spatula. Be careful to not move the crackers too much.

At this point, you could sprinkle on nuts, mini chocolate chips, candy pieces, sprinkles really anything you want. It is very good plain, so you don’t have to do this. It does make the candy look pretty for holidays, and gift giving, though.

Cool candy completely before cutting. To speed up the cooling, you can put it in the fridge for a few minutes. I usually do. 🙂

My family loves this candy. And it quickly disappears at any gathering I take it to.

You can also use different kinds of crackers. I’ve seen this candy made with club crackers and even cheese crackers. You can also use different kinds of chocolate chips, and as I said above, different toppings.

Since it takes just a few minutes to make, it’s the perfect last minute desert for any dinner or gathering.

I've made this before. I was told it was called Poor Man's Toffee. My hubby calls is Candy Crack! LOL It is quite addictive.

For some reason I never think about this until Christmas rolls around. Maybe I'll whip up a batch soon. Thanks for the reminder!

    🙂

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
