In the Kitchen with Linda & Dinner Menu

June 8, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

My daughter and son begged to be able to make a s’more dip that they saw on Facebook. Because my daughter was bored because she is having to sit around with a hurt knee, I gave in. I brought all the ingredients to the dining room table, and she assembled it.

Let’s just say it didn’t turn out as expected!

In the Kitchen with Linda & Dinner Menu

We didn’t have any milk chocolate or semi-sweet chips, only dark chocolate & mint, so my daughter used three chocolate candy bars broken into pieces on the bottom of the pan.  She also didn’t look up what temperature to bake it at, or how long to bake it.

She may or may not get some of that from me. lol She had me put in and take it out of the oven a few times, until she was satisfied with it. By then, the marshmallows had liquified under the brown crust. And the chocolate wasn’t melted smoothly, it was still in chunks. Don’t ask me why. lol

So their s’more dip didn’t come out like the descriptions online. They still ate it, though! lol And liked it!

They definitely want to try it again. I will make sure they find the complete directions first! lol

My husband finally got the pantry shelves up! We bought them at a local saw mill, so had to wait our turn to have the wood cut. Because we bought “raw” wood, it was still to wet to put anything on them. We tried Saturday night, after the shelves were finished, but Sunday morning, things were a little damp. We ran a fan to help dry the shelves quicker, so should be able to fill the shelves before too long.

I’m trying to demonstrate patience, like I tell my kids they should, but I’m so excited. I’ve never had a pantry before, and can hardly wait to fill the shelves!

Now…. to answer the question that I get asked about a hundred times a day……….What’s For Dinner?

Saturday – quick & easy- Pizza, chicken tenders

Sunday – soup & sandwich day – Tuna sandwiches, leftovers

Monday – chicken – Chicken, potatoes, onions in the slow cooker, snap peas from the garden

Tuesday – pizza/pasta – Pizza with homemade garlic crust, turkey pepperoni, onions, and peppers, carrot sticks

Wednesday – Taco Night- beef or chicken – Chicken Tacos with all the fixings

Thursday – chicken – Chicken Curry, rice

Friday – beef – Jag – a rice dish

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17 NKJV
