Our Homeschool Week in Review

July 26, 2014 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

My youngest two, my only remaining homeschool students, went to church camp this week. They left Monday morning at 7 and got home Friday afternoon at 2. It sure was quiet here this week!

Here’s a pic of them leaving on Monday morning. I posted this on my personal Facebook page, and got comments about how she had many more bags than he did. lol

They had a great time. Swimming, archery, volleyball, a talent show with everyone doing skits, and much more. More importantly, they had devotions several times a day, and worship services every night. 🙂

They didn’t want to come home! lol I had to force them to let me take a coming home picture. lol  Unfortunately, Abby was sick when she came home (even though she’s smiling in the picture), and got worse last night. Zach came down with it today.  🙁 Poor things. Hopefully, it passes quickly.

I had grand plans to clean out the school room, make lots of school plans, and in general get everything ready for another school year. ummm….yeah…..none of that happened. sigh I had a dentist appointment Monday morning to have a tooth pulled. Let’s just say it was a traumatic pulling. That tooth didn’t want to come out! At one point there was talk of stopping and sending me to an oral surgeon. I said, nope, just keep going. lol Now it’s Friday night, and my mouth is still hurting.   :/

Hannah, 18, had an orthodontist appointment Tuesday afternoon. New wires that included teeth that hadn’t been wired before equaled a sore, painful mouth for her. So the two of us pretty much just sat around eating soft food all week. lol

So while I didn’t get anything done this week that I wanted to, I did find a new planner to use with Zach this school year. It looks great, and I think it will really help to teach him to be responsible for his own work. Instead of depending on me to tell him everything. I’ll share more about that later after I try it.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17 NKJV
