Getting Healthy with Linda

May 16, 2015 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I had a pretty good week last week. I have felt better, so that’s a good thing. Remembering to take my vitamins every day makes a hug difference. I know being more active is helping, too.

I tried very hard to ignore my allergies, and go for several walks each day. All those walks helped me to raise my step count, as you’ll see below. I don’t walk alone, though. Max and Piper usually go with me. Sometimes, some of the family will come with me, but most of the time, it’s me and the dogs.

Max usually walks in front of me and makes sure that there is nothing out there to bother me. I’m thankful for that, now that the snakes are out!

Getting Healthy with Linda

You may have noticed in my talking about getting healthy, I haven’t mentioned weight. I do, in fact, need to lose weight. Healthy isn’t a number on the scale, though.

To me, healthy means good numbers on my labs, feeling well, and having the energy to do the things I need to everyday to take care of my family, and ministry. I do not weight my self regularly. I do use a tape measure once every week or two to check progress. I refuse to obsess about my weight, though. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to lose 30 pounds. To me, being healthy is more about how I feel, not how much I weigh.

Here are my steps for the last week:

Friday  8221

Saturday  7603

Sunday   3872

Monday   7514

Tuesday     7816

Wednesday   6915

Thursday     9259

The VivoFit Activity Bar is still really encouraging me to take more steps! Last week, I had 45,172 steps, this week I had 51,200!  I got so close to 10,000 steps on Thursday! I had just started on my walk when my mother came to visit. So I turned around and went home. I’m actually looking forward to hitting the 10,000 step mark someday soon!

My goals for this week were:

increase my steps, (Done),

enter my food into MyFitness Pal, (Done),

take my vitamins and supplements every day (Done)

Discuss lab results with doctor – (not done)

My goals for this coming week are:

the same as last week……Increase my steps, enter my food into MyFitness Pal every day,  take my vitamins and supplements every day, get to my doctor to discuss my latest lab results.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17 NKJV
