Family Camp – Movie Review & Giveaway

Family Camp is the first movie from the Skit Guys. Never heard of the Skit Guys? They’ve been creating mini-movies for churches and youth groups for years, as well as performing live at events. My kids, and my husband and I, loved to watch their skits. So funny. I was really looking forward to seeing their new movie!

I was able to watch a screener of Family Camp online, as the movie comes out in theaters May 13th.

The Family Camp cast includes The Skit Guys—Tommy Woodard and Eddie James—along with Leigh-Allyn Baker (“Good Luck Charlie”), Gigi Orsillo, Robert Amaya (“Courageous”), Cece Kelly, Mark, Christopher Lawrence, and social media sensation / comedian Heather Land.

Family Camp Review

Synopsis: When their pastor encourages the congregation to sign-up for a week away at family camp, Grace (Leigh-Allyn Baker) believes she’s found the perfect cure for her imperfect clan—even if they’d all rather be anywhere but at rustic Camp Katokwah. The first feature film from The Skit Guys—Tommy Woodard and Eddie James—Family Camp is a laugh-outloud comedy that is sure to touch the hearts and tickle the funny bones of every family member from eight to eighty.

I found Family Camp to be very entertaining. The Skit Guys were great, as I thought they would be. The rest of the cast was great, too. This movie shows that families aren’t perfect. But it’s ok. God is still with imperfect families, and can still use them. And also what can happen to a family when they submit to, and follow, God. It’s not all serious, it’s very funny. Lots of things happen to the families at camp that are very comical. Several times I laughed out loud. I loved this movie, and can’t wait to share it with my family!

I Got a Cricut! Check Out My First Cricut Projects!

I was blessed to receive a Cricut from some of my kids for Christmas last year. Then in January, before I had much time to play with it, we all got sick with “the virus”. So I lost a couple of months of play time. I’ve been making up for it though!

Check out some of my first Cricut projects!

My very first project was decorating my mixer! Using the vinyl that I received as a gift, I put these white flowers on my mixer. I love it!

But then I thought it needed a little something something. lol So I bought some vinyl in a color that goes with my kitchen. And added some more decorations. Looks pretty good, I think. And it makes me smile when I see my mixer!

The 1st t-shirt I made was for my mother. My great nephew, her great grandson, was having a super hero birthday party, and every was supposed to come dressed as a supper hero. So I made her a Super Granny t-shirt. Complete with cape! It was during the making of this shirt when I discovered that using an iron to make t-shirts is hard!

The next shirt was for my anthropologist daughter. Skeletons, of course. lol I actually had to make this shirt twice. The first one, made with my iron, messed up. So I then bought a Cricut Press and made her another one. Ah, much better!

My husband bought a new welding helmet, but someone else in the shop had one just like it. So He asked me to put something on it so he could tell which one was his. Flames, of course!

Then, about a week before Easter, I finally made something for myself! And I wore it every time I left the house all week. lol Oh, for the record, I washed it by hand in the sink at night and hung it to dry. Lest you think I wore a dirty shirt all week. lol

My son that still lives at home requested a Star Wars shirt. I had to pay for this design, but it wasn’t too bad. Only $1.99. And he likes it. lol Young men can be so picky! lol

I had to order more black vinyl for his shirt. So I tried a different brand of heat transfer vinyl. It has high ratings on amazon. I worked great for this shirt, with no problems. And it’s a lot cheaper than Cricut supplies!

I made a mug, too, with permanent vinyl. But I forgot to take a picture before I gave it away!

Though the cash payout sounds like a great perk, more people will choose a lower monthly term life insurance rate over the promise of a future cash payout. But, before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s take a closer look at how exactly term life insurance works!

Ultimately your decision will depend on a variety of important factors, like your family’s needs, your finances, and your health. A 30-year term life insurance policy is exactly that, a life insurance policy that lasts for 30 years. As you explore different types of policies, you’ll find that 30 years is often the longest that insurance companies will offer. In some cases, you may be able to find 40-year term life insurance policies, but these are rare. So, that leaves 30-year policies as the longest, commonly found policy type. But, what does that mean for you?

30-year life insurance policies will cover you for 30 years from when you sign your policy and will provide a payout to your beneficiaries in the event of your passing. A 30-year policy is often the closest someone can get to whole life insurance without paying the high monthly premiums associated with whole life insurance. If you secure a 30-year life insurance policy when you’re healthy and in your 30s or 40s, this plan may provide you coverage for the rest of your life.

When your 30-year term life insurance policy expires, there is the option to renew or convert your insurance. However, when you convert or renew your life insurance plan, you’ll be 30 years older, meaning that your monthly premium will increase significantly.

What are the Pros of a 30-year Term Life Insurance Policy?

If you’re considering locking in a low 30-year term life insurance rate, the best time to do it is while you’re young & healthy

A 30-year term life insurance policy is ideal for family planning.

The greatest advantage of choosing a 30-year term life insurance policy is the length of coverage. 30 years is a long time! When you choose a 30-year plan, you won’t have to worry about burdening your loved ones with your debt or end-of-life expenses in the event of your death. If you have outstanding mortgage payments, college debt, or any other outstanding debts, you must secure life insurance—otherwise, your loved ones will be stuck with the bill after your passing. Luckily, when you secure a 30-year term life insurance rate, you won’t have to fret about the possibility of your loved ones taking on your outstanding debts.

Another great “pro” for a 30-year term life insurance plan is that it is a far cheaper alternative to a whole life insurance plan. Whole life insurance costs, on average, much more per month than any term life insurance plan. Since your coverage doesn’t expire with a whole life insurance policy, the insurance company requires you to pay more to justify a guaranteed payout.

However, it should be mentioned that while a 30-year policy will be less expensive than a whole life policy, it will be more expensive than the shorter alternatives. But, if you remember what we discussed before—a 20-year policy may be a lower cost, but you’re more likely to outlive the policy and need to renew or convert at a higher price later on. So, just because a 30-year term life insurance rate is initially more than a 10 or 20-year policy, it does not mean you will be saving money with a shorter plan. In most cases, choosing a shorter plan—especially when you’re young and healthy—will end up costing you more in the long run.

When you begin family planning, you should also begin searching for the right life insurance policy for your family so that all members of your family are covered for the foreseeable future. It isn’t a fun subject to think about—especially when you’re young—but it is important to plan for after your death. This is especially true if you meet either of the two criteria listed above. While you may not have a spouse or children at the moment, you should still establish a plan. For a 30-year $500,000 term life policy, women in their 30s will pay anywhere from $30 to $45 as a monthly premium. Since women tend to live longer than men, they also pay less per month.

Farm to Fork to Love is a new movie that tells the story of Alice, a young and talented sous chef at NY’s top restaurant. She’s happy working there, for the most part. But then she receives an invitation to judge a farm to fork food competition for a prestigious annual fundraiser. That she really wants to participate in.

Bret, her boss who is also her boyfriend, does not like it when she accepts the invitation. He makes her choose between cooking for an event with him, or judging the food competition. He tells her she is “just a sous chef”, and shouldn’t participate in the event. Thankfully, Alice decides to go.

Once she arrives at the competition in Kansas, Alice is surprised to find her former boyfriend in college, Christian, is amongst the judges. The cooking show and her reconnection with Christian will make Alice reconsider her job choice and her dreams for her future.

Alice realizes that she can live out her dreams. Including having a boyfriend that supports her dreams.

In many ways, Farm to Fork to Love is your typical rom-com movie. I enjoyed watching this movie, they talk a lot about food. lol It’s an entertaining movie that held my interest the whole time. My favorite part, though, was when Alice realized that there were people that supported her in her pursuit of her dream. And didn’t try to hold her back like her boss/boyfriend at the beginning of the movie. Once she, and us, realize that we can make our dreams come true, it’s life changing.

Like stated above, it is not suitable for kids or young teens. But there is not another movie out there that tells the true story of Jesus as much as this movie does. This is the same version that was seen in movie theaters.
