This year my students are in 8th grade and 10th grade. Here’s what they are using this year. You can also see what I’m using for Lesson Planning.
Our Homeschool Curriculum 2014-2015
Zach, 8th grade, will be studying:
Bible – At least 30 minutes of private reading time each day. We have many Bible studies and devotionals they can choose from to use.
Math – Khan and UberSmart – He had developed a severe dislike for his last math book, so I moved him to Khan before the end of last school year. He is continuing with that, and is progressing well. He is also using UberSmart. Review coming soon!
Earth Science – Switched on Schoolhouse Earth Science – Review coming soon!
America the Beautiful – This is curriculum can be used for 1 or 2 years, this is our second year. Here’s my Notgrass America the Beautiful review.
Handwriting – He’s continuing in Logic of English The Rhythm of Handwriting. He doesn’t like cursive, so he is taking his time learning it. He would prefer to quit, but I won’t let him.
English/Literature – Right now, he’s finishing up Moving Beyond the Page Huckleberry Finn. After that, he’ll go onto an English book.
Abby is in the middle of 10th grade. She’s working ahead, she’s not behind. She wants to graduate early. Right now, she’s working on:
Bible – At least 30 minutes of private reading time each day. We have many Bible studies and devotionals they can choose from to use.
American Christian Authors -You can read my review of Lightning Literature & Composition American Christian Authors.
The Greeks – This is a double credit course, a history and a literature credit. You can read my review of Roman Roads Media – Old Western Culture: The Greeks.
Geometry – She’s finishing up geometry on Khan. Then she’ll take consumer math.
Biology – She’s using Abeka Biology. When she’s finished with that, she’ll be using Switched on Schoolhouse Earth Science .
Kentucky State History – using Switched on Schoolhouse Kentucky State History– this is a 1/2 credit course
Music – She plays the piano a lot, and is always learning new songs. She plays the piano in church, and also sings and plays in a youth band. She is also using Homeschool Piano.
Art – She has recently expressed an interest in learning how to draw. We don’t have a formal art course, but have many learn how to draw books that she is using. I have also told her I want her to use the Art Techniques class on Schoolhouse Teachers.com.
As she finishes each subject, I’ll add in new ones. She’s getting all the required classes done early. She can’t decide what electives she wants to take yet, other than art and music.

I think it’s fun to see what other families are using. I actually posted my list on line this year. That should help keep me accountable.
