The Chosen: Last Supper Movie Review & Giveaway

March 25, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

The Chosen is one of the most-watched shows in the world. It’s a groundbreaking historical drama based on the life of Jesus seen through the eyes of those who knew him. As of July 27, 2024, over 250 million viewers have watched The Chosen. The seven-season series shares an authentic and intimate look at Jesus’ revolutionary life and teachings.

The Chosen: The Last Supper

And now, the new The Chosen: Last Supper is releasing in theaters in 3 parts! Part One (episodes 1-2) releases on March 28; Part Two (episodes 3-5) releases on April 4; and Part Three (episodes 6-8) releases on April 11. You don’t want to miss this!

The Chosen: Last Supper

Synopsis:

The table is set.
The people of Israel welcome Jesus as king while his disciples anticipate his crowning. But—instead of confronting Rome—he turns the tables on the Jewish religious festival. Their power threatened, the country’s religious and political leaders will go to any length to ensure this Passover meal is Jesus’ last.
Shot in a beautiful cinematic format, The Chosen: Last Supper brings the most pivotal week in history to audiences in this special three-part theatrical release.

The Chosen: The Last Supper

I just finished watching episode 1. And I loved it! If you haven’t watched The Chosen before, it’s ok. You don’t have to see previous seasons to enjoy it, and follow along. I do think once you see this, you will want to go back and watch them all.

Watch the Trailer!

The Chosen: Last Supper Movie Review

If you have watched The Chosen, then you know the look and feel of the series. These new episodes released in theaters, have the same look and feel. It is very well done. The acting, the directing, the scenery and costumes. It has a very dramatic feel to it. The music fits the scenes as well.

The Chosen: The Last Supper

The Chosen: Last Supper is directed by Dallas Jenkins and stars Jonathan Roumie as Jesus. The rest of the cast consists of:
Shahar Isaac – Simon Peter
Elizabeth Tabish – Mary Magdalene
Paras Patel – Matthew
Noa James – Andrew

The Chosen: The Last Supper

The Chosen: The Last Supper has no rating listed listed, but it is suitable for everyone. There are a few very dramatic scenes, and scenes with swords being used, not close up, and no blood is shown. Also included is a scene where there is a fire, and a person runs out of the scene with fire on their back. I like to share this information so you know if you want to take your kids or not. Hopefully, you find it helpful.

The Chosen: The Last Supper
The Chosen: The Last Supper

I highly recommend The Chosen: Last Supper. Reading these stories in the Bible is amazing. But watching these scenes come to life really helps us see who Jesus is, and what he did, in a way that is easier for many to relate to.

I loved the first episode, and can’t wait to see the rest of it in theaters. I’m also excited to see the rest of the episodes when they release.

I Am Living Proof Movie Review

March 6, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I just finished watching I Am Living Proof. It’s a new documentary in theaters March 9. I am Living Proof covers what happened when thousands gathered under a revival tent in Colorado Springs as churches across the community joined forces to host renowned evangelist Mario Murillo.

I Am Living Proof

Synopsis:

I Am Living Proof is a compelling and intimate look into the lives of three individuals who face an extraordinary life-altering event. Bri, once a promising student, finds her academic dreams derailed by an illness that’s deteriorating her body. For seven years, she’s caught in a cycle of failed medical treatments and excruciating pain, pushing her toward assisted suicide.

Steve’s life spirals out of control after a workplace accident leaves him dependent on opioids. Jobless and desperate, he attempts to end it all with an overdose. Mary, a mother of five, faces debilitating pain from a spinal injury that leaves her unable to care for her children—until a vivid dream sparks an unexpected turning point.

Unbeknownst to them, their paths are about to intersect with Mario Murillo, a traveling preacher who’s spent his life sharing God’s love and healing power when his old-school-style tent revival happens to be in town. This chance encounter challenges their beliefs and offers a glimmer of hope in their darkest hours.

I Am Living Proof chronicles their transformative experiences as we together meet the real God of miracles.

Watch the Trailer!

I Am Living Proof Movie Review

I Am Living Proof is not rated. However, it is suitable for the whole family. This documentary uses the history of tent revivals, Bible verses, and personal stories to show us that miracles still happen. Three people are followed from the tent revival, to interviews where they explain their condition and discuss what happened at the moment of the miracle, and doctor visits. Their own doctors are shown with them, showing their x-rays, and explaining their conditions before. And what has changed in their conditions.

Mario Murillo speaks throughout the documentary. And again at the end where he talks directly to the viewer.

While watching I Am Living Proof, it was very slow in the beginning. It is a documentary, after all. However, as I continued watching it held my interest. I didn’t want to stop watching, even when others were trying to get me away from my computer.

This is a compelling, powerful documentary. I am a Christian, and I believe in God’s healing power. I have a family member that was healed instantly of a sickness. (Not at these tent revivals. And for their privacy, I won’t share more. It’s not my story to tell anyway.)

Whether you are wondering if God and miracles are real, or know they are. Whether you need a healing, or have been healed. I highly recommend you go see I Am Living Proof. Miracles bring hope. And they still happen today!

Here’s a quote from I Am Living Proof.

You can definitely realize your sins are forgiven without seeing a miracle. But also, you can not deny that miracles, in some instances, aid in the act of proving to people that their sins are forgiven.

No Address Movie Review

February 27, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I have previously shared my review of the documentary Americans With No Address that investigated the homeless crisis in America. It captured the untold stories of those experiencing homelessness. The making of the No Address movie is what inspired that documentary. And now No Address is releasing in theaters.

No Address

No Address

Synopsis: Homeless at 17, Lauren lost everything—except the will to survive. On the streets, she finds new meaning in a family of outcasts and discovers that home is where the hope is. No Address is a gripping journey of living without walls and rising above them. Starring Lucas Jade Zumann, Beverly D’Angelo, Isabella Ferreira, William Baldwin, Xander Berkeley, Ty Pennington, Kristanna Loken, Patricia Velasquez, and Ashanti, this powerful film dares you to believe in second chances.

Here are some statistics:

As of 2023, in the United States alone, over 2/8 million people experienced homelessness.

More than half of them were children.

Between 2022 and 2023, street-level homelessness increased 12% nationwide, if this rate continues, street-level homelessness will double in 5-6 years.

Nearly 1 in 3 foster youth in California face homelessness after leaving the child welfare system.

Robert Craig Films is using the power of film to inspire action in local communities. They are deeply committed to addressing the urgent issue of homelessness and have pledged that 50% of the net profits from their five No Address productions will be donated to a diverse range of organizations and churches nationwide that are tirelessly working to combat the homelessness crisis within their communities.

No Address is an exploration of hope, humanity, and resilience as characters navigate challenges with no physical address.

Watch the Trailer!

No Address Movie Review

No Address is a powerful, gritty movie. It does not gloss over the realities of the homeless population. Does No Address do a perfect job of showing what homelessness is like? No. But I think the scope of the homelessness problem is much too large for just one movie. As there is not just one reason why someone might be homeless. And not one solution to fixing the homelessness problem.

I do think that No Address brings the reality of homelessness to those that haven’t experienced it. Or know someone that has. If more people are aware, then more people can help. In whatever capacity that means for each of us.

That being said, I think the story line is a good one. No Address shows us several reasons why the characters are experiencing homelessness, and a little of what life on the streets may be like for some. As well as the bonds of friendship and family among the characters. And they show one solution to help solve the problem. Faith based ministries.

Movie Details

No Address is not yet rated. This movie is definitely not for young kids. There is domestic violence, street fighting with a stabbing, a mother dying in front of her young daughter, language, as well as drugs and alcohol. I think that young teens will be bothered by some of the content. I would watch first, then determine if my teen was able to watch this movie.

I’ll end with a couple of quotes from the movie.

Compassion, love, and faith conquers all. Anyone can be just a few short steps from being homeless. But there is a way home.

So next time you see someone in need, have faith because He might be working a miracle through you to bring someone back home for good.

There is a way home. The answer is simple. Love.

The Unbreakable Boy Movie Review & Giveaways

February 20, 2025 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I recently watched The Unbreakable Boy. I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s such an awesome movie!

Unbreakable

The Unbreakable Boy

Synopsis:

From Kingdom Story Company, the team behind Jesus Revolution and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and Lionsgate, the studio behind Wonder, comes The Unbreakable Boy.

When his parents, Scott (Zachary Levi) and Teresa (Meghann Fahy), learn that Austin is both autistic and has brittle bone disease, they initially worry for their son’s future. But with Scott’s growing faith and Austin’s incredible spirit, they become “unbreakable,” finding joy, gratitude, and courage even in the most trying times — an extraordinary true story about a father and son learning together that every day can be the best day of your life!

Watch the Trailer!

The Unbreakable Boy Movie Review

A father, mother, and brother who do everything they can to make sure Austin’s life is amazing. That’s the gist of this movie. But there is more to it than that.

An accidental pregnancy, a genetic disease, alcoholism, faith, and autism all play a part is this story. And this movie is based on a true story!

I loved The Unbreakable Boy! All of the actors in this movie did an excellent job. It held my interest the whole time.

The strength of the parents is shown over and over again. A younger brother that stands up to bullies for his brother. An imaginary friend plays a big part in this movie. And you will be surprised by whose imaginary friend it is!

There are happy parts to this movie, and sad parts, as well. I was moved to tears a couple of times. In both parts, happy, and sad. The drinking of alcohol is seen in a few scenes. However, it is not shown as glamorous, and consequences are shown as well.

The Unbreakable Boy is rated PG for some violence, language, alcohol abuse, and strong thematic material.

The Unbreakable Boy is an awesome, inspiring movie. A story of family bonds, faith, and redemption. Sometimes, as parents, we don’t have the strength to do hard things for ourselves. But we can, and do, find the strength to do hard things for our kids. That’s exactly what the father in this movie did.

When you see The Unbreakable Boy, be sure to stay for the credits to see the family this movie is based on.
