Thank you to Depend for sponsoring today’s post about the #underwareness movement.
Becoming a Mom brings many wonderful things. Joy, happiness, and more love for this new little person than you ever thought possible. Becoming a Mom also brings it’s share of hardships. Including sleepless nights, and the thought that you might never shower again. For some Moms, those hardships include light bladder leakage. You don’t have to be an older mom for this to happen to you, either. According to Depend, there are more people with bladder leakage in their 20’s than in their 80’s!
For some women, they start having light bladder leakage after their first baby. It started for me after my 4th baby was born. When you are a young mother, and light bladder leakage first begins, it’s very hard to admit that you have this problem. Women have always been afraid to let anyone know that they have light bladder leakage. Because it is something that women don’t usually talk about, we all think we are the only ones experiencing it.
You are not alone! There are 51 million women who experience bladder leakage. The average age of someone with bladder leakage is only 52! More people with bladder leakage are 50 or younger than 60 or older!
