We had the first cookout of the year on Saturday! We cook over a fire in the fire pit that my husband made with rocks found on our property.

I made oven Roasted Chicken and Vegetables last week. I’ve made variations of it before, and it always comes out good. The family loved it, and ate it all!
While I was outside working on garden stuff, my 28 year old son decided to make chocolate chip cookies. He found the recipe we use, with the ingredients on the front of the card, and the directions on the back. Except he didn’t know the directions were on the back. lol So he assembled the ingredients in his own interesting way. lol I walked in to find him using a potato masher to mix everything together. He put the dry ingredients in the bowl first, then added the shortening and butter, and was using the potato masher to mix it all together! lol
Surprisingly, they were edible. lol
I didn’t take any food pictures last week!
I guess I was still recovering from the big spaghetti dinner fundraiser.
We had a lot of spaghetti and sauce left over from the dinner, so I put it in the freezer. Well, this week we used a couple of bags.
I spent last week in the kitchen getting ready for a huge spaghetti dinner fundraiser that we hosted. My daughter is raising money for her mission trip this summer. I made all the food for 200 people!
Salad in bowls ready to be picked up by the diners.
It’s been a long time, as in a couple of years, since I made homemade English Muffins. I decided it was time to rectify that situation last week. I had my daughter mix up the dough, and I did the cutting and cooking.
Did you know that English Muffins acre cooked on top of the stove, not baked?
I forgot to share a picture of my Cherry Pie last week!
I did use two cans of cherry pie filling that I had in the cabinet, but I made the crust myself.
This weeks featured post, the post with the most clicks last week, is…… Apple Cinnamon Mini Donuts
I want to make these Apple Cinnamon Mini Donuts soon. My kids are going to love them. They are baked, not fried, in a mini muffin pan. Stop by and check it out!
