I wanted to make some cute shirts for my grandchildren for Easter. So I made my daughter and her two kids matching shirts!

My Favorite Peeps Shirts

I used my Cricut to make them. I found the bunnies in the Cricut design program.

After pressing the shirts, I glued on white pom poms for bunny tails. I used this glue, and it worked great!

These shirts were so easy to make. I’ll have to remember to make them more next year! Hopefully, they won’t have grown out of wanting to wear matching shirts by then!

My grandson was having no part of picture taking. lol

They loved their shirts. Even though he didn’t want his picture taken. lol

They are for sure my favorite peeps!

I was excited when I received this book to read. Authentic Influencer uses a study of the life of Barnabas to show us practical ways that we, too, can be influencers for Christ.

Book Review

I have never really studied Barnabas before. I have, of course, seen his name in the Bible while reading. If we are not looking for it, though, we will miss his example.

The author does an excellent job of helping us to see what Barnabas did, and what it means for us. Authentic Influencer is brimming with help and ideas.

One of the things I learned from this book is that we are all influencing people for something. That is so true! Even when we don’t realize it, we are.

Whether it’s the name brand clothes we wear, the pictures of our food from restaurants, or telling everyone about our new favorite movie. And even the way we look and act can influence others.

When we describe someone using the term “influencer” we think of someone online with millions of followers trying to get us to buy something.

Pay attention to this, you don’t have to be an “influencer” online to influence others!

But, here’s the thing.

We should use our influence to show others Jesus.

In Authentic Influencer, we learn the why and how of influencing others.

Every chapter begins with two quotes. One quote from Jesus. And one quote from others, including preachers, presidents, and others.

Every chapter ends with “Some Food for thought”. Questions to ask ourselves so we can get the most benefit from each chapter.

A godly influencer serves as God’s hands.

I have loved reading Authentic Influencer.

While I have learned a lot while reading this book, this quote sums up the book for me.

Godly influencers are servants who lead whoever is around toward flourishing in light of God’s vision for their lives.

Synopsis:

Brycen Newman, beloved member of his high school’s football and baseball teams, starts experiencing unexplained headaches. As the headaches continue and other symptoms crop up, Brycen’s parents take him to the hospital, who dismiss them.

Ed Hanson, a car repair owner, hides the long hours of labor he works on his cars from his wife, Marilyn. Marilyn is Brycen’s nurse and inspires Ed to take an interest in Brycen’s case. Richard Newman, Brycen’s dad, takes the advice of his coworker to seek help for his son from a neurosurgeon. It’s advised he needs surgery.

Miracle at Manchester Movie Review & Giveaway

Miracle at Manchester is an awesome movie with an incredible ending. God healed Brycen! The tumor is gone! God is still doing miracles. I love movies based on real life!

The themes of the power of prayer, God’s sovereignty & His power to perform miracles, charity for others & your community, as well as hope in times of distress are seen throughout the movie.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. – 2 Timothy 4:7 (NIV)

I highly recommend Miracle at Manchester for the whole family. While there is sadness, and a some tears, about Brycen having cancer, the movie does not have an overwhelming sad feel to it.

My son is a childhood leukemia survivor. So I have been where Brycen’s parents were. I thought the actors did an excellent job of showing what a parent goes through. From sadness and tears, to a fighting attitude of not giving up, then to relief and joy.

I thought that Kory Getman who portrayed Brycen did an excellent job, as well.

Angel Studios, who brought you The Chosen, is releasing a new film, His Only Son. For the first time in a feature film, the controversial account of Abraham and Isaac will be brought to life, one that everyone can draw inspiration from.

His Only Son recounts one of the most controversial moments in the Old Testament—when Abraham was commanded by God to sacrifice his son Isaac on the mountain of Moriah. While traveling to the place of the sacrifice, alongside Isaac and two servants, Abraham is flooded with vivid memories from the years he and Sarah spent longing for the son they were promised—the son he must now lay upon the altar.

His Only Son Movie Review

His Only Son starts out with Abraham telling Sarah that God told him to go make a sacrifice. She didn’t like the fact that he would have to travel, because travel in that time period was dangerous. But when he told her that he was taking Isaac with him. she was very, very against it. As you would imagine. So course, she tried to talk him out of going, but he insisted that God told him to go and he was going AND taking Isaac with him.

And, yes, there is danger along the way on their trip. From soldiers for the king, to a servant trying to take matters into his own hands.

His Only Son

Along the way, Abraham has flashbacks to everything that led up to this point. When God told him that He would make Abraham a great nation. All the pain that Sarah felt from not being able to have a baby. What happened when Sarah gave her maid Hagar to Abraham, and the tension that created in their relationship.

When Abraham and Isaac finally get to Moriah, Isaac asks his father where the lamb is for the sacrifice. “The Lord will provide the lamb.” Isaac had no reason to not trust or believe his father. When they get up on the mountain, and Abraham tells his precious son what God told him to do. Isaac does question why God would tell his father to do this.

Abraham was right. God did provide a lamb for the sacrifice.

The movie than fast forwards 2,000 years. Then we see 3 crosses and another “His only son”. And a Roman guard saying this man was the son of God. The movie ends with the Bible verse John 3:16 on the screen.

His Only Son is a very well done movie. The whole family can watch this movie. A couple of scenes are a little intense, so young, or sensitive, children may have a hard time with them.

Overall, though, His Only Son is a great family movie. We can see that what God promises, He will fulfill. That He is always there watching over us, protecting us, and providing for us. An awesome message for us all!

In the Kitchen with Linda & Dinner Menu

Last week was a busy week in my kitchen. In addition to the pictures below, I also made homemade Chex mix. My daughter made homemade chocolate and butterscotch chip cookies. It’s a yummy combination! I didn’t get any pictures of those, either.

I pulled some sliced green tomatoes from my freezer and fried them. I don’t really care for them, but my husband, mother, and daughter love them. They always say I don’t make enough. lol But I get tired of standing there frying them! I made more than three, lol. This was all that was left on the serving plate when I remembered to take a picture. lol

My husband and daughter went to the movies last weekend, and brought home their left over popcorn. After it sitting there uneaten for a couple of days, I put it in the air fryer for a few minutes. It brought it back to life. yum!

We had Cincinnati Style Chili. When I make it, I make extra and freeze it. Then I just have to boil the pasta. Makes for an easy dinner.

I guess last week’s theme was freezer week. lol I had some cooked, sliced turkey in there, so I raided my pantry for a left over box of stuffing, and a jar of gravy. The hardest part of this meal was making the mashed potatoes.

For St. Patrick’s Day, I made a Shepherd’s Pie. It’s pretty simple to make, and a comfort meal that the whole family loved. I haven’t made it in years and years. So many years that my son didn’t remember ever having it before. lol

My husband went to a church event on Saturday night, I picked dinner. lol I tried a new recipe Chicken Bacon Pasta. It was good! I want to tweak the recipe a little before I share it.

I did a little decorating on the counter by the stove. Well, kind of decorating. lol I put my wood lazy susan that I already had there. Here’s a similiar lazy susan without the design. I added my little egg salt and pepper shakers that were a gift.(Here are some similar egg salt and pepper shakers.) I put my wooden utensils in a large glass mug that I already had. Then I put my pink salt in a small glass canning jar with a bamboo lid. and this cute little plant. I love it! This section of the counter shows from the front door, so this looks so much nicer than the air fryer sitting there!

Wednesday – Taco Night- Chicken Fajitas

Thursday – pork or chicken – Baked BBQ Chicken, baked potatoes, asparagus

Friday – Quick & Easy  – take out or leftovers

Saturday – Quick & Easy or Husbands Choice – Burgers on the grill, pasta salad with lots of veggies

Sunday – soup & sandwich day – Soup, sandwiches, or leftovers

I just did not feel like cooking the other night. I was seriously leaning towards take out pizza. Then I remembered that I had a pack of 2 premade crusts that I got on clearance. Since I had thought ahead and bought pepperoni at the same time, I was easily able to throw together some quick pizzas. I chopped some onions, peppers, and canned pineapple. Oh, and 3 kinds of cheese! We had 2 pizzas for less than the cost of one take out pizza. I count that as a win!

I made breakfast for supper one night. There was some milk I needed to finish before it went bad, so pancakes fit. I made a package of bacon I had on hand from a sale.

Last week, I bought 3 large packages of chicken breast on sale. I packaged all of it for the freezer. Half with Italian salad dressing, and half with BBQ sauce. I just went to take a pic and realized that I had sent all but one pack out to the freezer in out storage building.

Well, it is cold in Kentucky today, and I don’t feel like walking out there just to get a pic. lol So here’s a pic of one package I left for dinner tonight. I cut all the chicken breasts in half so they would cook more evenly, and quickly. That’s why there are 4 pieces, and it’s labeled 2. lol

Now that I seasoned all this chicken, I keep seeing chicken recipes I want to try. lol But I really love the convenience of just dumping this chicken into a pan or the slow cooker. And doing a couple of quick sides. Hopefully, chicken breasts go on sale again soon so I can try all these recipes I’ve been seeing. lol
