The Year in Review – 2010

December 31, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I started out in January making Blog Goals for the first time. Then quickly posted Amended Blog Goals before the month was out. lol

February found me have having another birthday. Wait until you see what I have planned for my birthday this year!

In March, my daughter gave me a Makeover and Photo Session. I still use one of the pictures as my profile picture!

April found me starting the Saturday on the Farm Carnival. Saturday on the Farm will be re-starting in March. So remember when you start working in your gardens to come back for a visit!

In May, I shared how we make Acne Soap. This soap really works great for my kids, and everyone that we’ve shared it with.

In June, I got a new laptop! ah….I could spend more time blogging without hogging the family computer! My family thanked me for letting them have their computer back. lol

July found me starting The Bible in 90 Days Challenge. There’s a new session starting on January 3rd. Come join me in reading the Bible!

In August, my OpenSky Shop opened! I was so excited. lol I still love having my own OpenSky Shop!

My favorite post from September, is a Wordless Wednesday picture of my daughter. I love it!

In October, I completed The Bible in 90 Days Challenge!  I shared The Country Woman and Her Gun. There’s a reason I named my blog Linda’s Lunacy. lol  I started a new blog hop called Sunny Saturday, and I’ve been having so much fun with it.

November found me sharing about Our Thanksgiving and Our Advent Season. I shared lots of our family traditions. This month, I also have a great time participating in the Holiday Gift Giveaway Hop. I had so much fun participating and giving away great gifts. I even won a couple! I’m participating in another awesome hop, The Handmade with Love Winter Giveaway Hop, in February.

In December, I shared some more of our family traditions with Our Chanukah, and Our Christmas.

Blooming Flowers

August 25, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

We finally got a break from the heat and humidity. It’s only been in the 80’s the last two days, with a breeze! It feels like fall already. But I can’t be fooled. I know we have at least 2 months of hot weather before it cools down for fall. We have enjoyed the last couple days though!

The Hibiscus bushes have all gone to seed.

Here’s a Morning Glory I found growing on a cedar tree.

I finally got some blooms on the flowers on the front porch.

A very pretty pink flower. I’m pretty sure this is a Cosmos, but the plant take disappeared.  Unfortunately, this pretty pink flower met a horrible death in a laser sword fight.

Here’s it’s pretty pink self in the house in a glass bottle brightening my house. I have to say, I almost cried when my son brought it to me. Yeah, the some son who had wielded the laser sword.

EDITED to add these 2 pictures:  I discovered the above flowers sprouted other little flowers in the center!
See? I was so surprised & delighted to see the little flowers!
Someone said in the comments that this wasn’t Cosmos, that it was a Zinnia.

End of edit…..

My daughter trimmed the big, white butterfly bush for me. It only had a couple of blooms left on it.

See how big it is? My husband had trimmed it back in the spring, before it started growing. It sure grew this summer!

She did a good job trimming all the branches she could reach.

My husband finished the top part when he got home. I’m told it will bloom again this year after trimming. This is the first year we are trying it.

Blooming Flowers

August 11, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

It has been another hot week here in Kentucky! So hot, that I don’t even want to venture outside to take pictures. Not that there are very many flowers out there to photograph. Anyway, I sent my daughter out to take pictures for me, and this is what she came back with.

Some of the Glads she planted are still blooming.

And the 2 Butterfly Bushes still have a lot of blooms on them.

And in the herb garden behind the house, the Feverfew still has blooms on it. I love these little flowers! (um….ignore the weeds, please!)

There is nothing new out there, though. There are only a couple of Hibiscus blooms left, we only had 1 Day Lilly open this week. I’m still very please with all the Jewelweed around. Our roses haven’t had any new blossoms in weeks. I’m not sure what’s going on with them.

So it’s just been a really hot week, where the flowers don’t even want to come out and play!

Blooming Flowers

August 3, 2010 by Linda @ Linda's Lunacy

I’ve been talking lots of butterfly pictures this week. Our butterfly bush is just full of them. This morning, I managed to get a picture of a butterfly on the mimosa tree. They were going from blossom to blossom. Taking  this picture was no easy feat, as I’m short and the tree is tall. lol
Here’s a little video I took of the butterflies on the butterfly bush.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-17 NKJV
